First Craft Show

Had to share a few pics of my first craft show booth last weekend. It was really exciting and I met a lot of other vendors. Lots of preparation and work setting it up, but all that planning and effort paid off on go-day. Turnout was not too shabby either.

Jaguar Flair

As promised, here's the Jaguar necklace I was working on. This lovely necklace has a bit of bold Jaguar color and flair throughout - teal ovals with black swirls. The dazzling gold, teal and black glass disks proudly show your Jaguar spirit, or just show off your great style and taste in jewelry. Black glass bicones and silver glass swirls bring up the 'sidelines' of the necklace, held up beautifully by the gun metal colored circles. This sparkly colorful necklace is sure to catch the eye and is a great show-off piece to add to any jewelry collection.

Additional views in the $15 bin.

Mountain Skyline Inspired

Hello all. While I haven't been as busy blogging, I Have been busy being inspired. Following an awesome vacation and wonderful trip to Blowing Rock Noth Carolina and the Blue Ridge Mountains, I've created a few necklaces partly inspired by the blues seen in the mountains and in the skyline above them. Also, being in Jacksonville FL, I've decided on a few tasteful Jaguar inspired designs as well to support our team, go Jaguars!

Manic Monday

Hopefully everyone had a great weekend. Monday's are usually a bit manic and no fun, but we drudge through them and make it to the other side. Here's my latest creation from this weekend to cheer up the jewelry spirits. I just love the colors in this shell donut, the way the silver and brown glitter sparkles. And the triple-colored brown braids always show so prettily. I weaved in a strand of pearls to give it added fun and a nice eye-catching effect. It also has this really neat magnetic barrel clasp, so no struggling with clasp ends on this one - just get the ends near each other and it connects and does all the work.  Nothing I enjoy more than hunting for the perfect beads and designing a Cara's Creation. Also added - it's Funky, it's a little chunky - check out the Big and Little Blue Squares necklace, also in the $20 bin. Hope they become as much your favorites, as they are mine!

Labor Day - lazy day

Hope everyone's Labor Day weekend was fun. So many things to do, or not do, on a 3 day weekend. I got to do more bead shopping, which is always my favorite. Later in the day and after chowing down a few buffalo wings with the hubby, and it was time to do one of my not so favorite things. Now don't get me wrong, I will take a whole roll of pictures at the zoo, a place I've been to many times. I love taking pictures... picking out the ones I want from the thousands I've taken to use for my blog and trying to find names for them all is the challenging part. Perhaps I will  get better and faster at it soon, but for now getting the right lighting, angle, etc. is a grueling labor of love. But the end result is all worth it. I hope you enjoy some of the new additions I've added from my collection, and the long weekend.

I had a hard time picking out which necklace I was going to blog about today, because I've added so many new ones to all the bins. But this one seem to stick in my head because of it's sleek looking elegance. Your eye travels along from the smooth black oblong stones to be surrounded by the white braided pearls and shell circles. Doesn't it just sound and look dreamy? Enjoy - additional picture can be found in the $20 bin.

My next project

This is a new bib necklace project I've got going on.  I really enjoyed making the mini bib necklace, (the one in the 20 bin) but I wanted to make a bib a little bigger and not as mini-sized. I got the pattern out of this really neat crochet book that Judy let me borrow for a few days. This one has a purple color scheme with a hint of orange. I'll probably add a layer of plain silver at the top, add some thick ribbon to tie it on and to soften it up a bit.

Seeing Double

Shout out to Toni for letting me know I had a few necklaces with guest appearances in both the $20 and $15 bins... Now how'd that happen, I think they gew legs and moved on their own... They're in the right spots now. Added titles to the jewelry so you don't have to try to explain a necklace you're interested in by color and shapes, they now have nice little names. A few of the necklaces have sold like hotcakes so you might want to jump on the ones you like. I can somewhat duplicate a necklace, but I normally will change something up so that no two are exactly the same. Follow me or subscribe to my blog so you can keep up with the latest additions - more blog and jewelry to come.

Checkout the bins!

Ok... after much effort, trial and error, I finallly got my links up to my other jewelry pictures. Check out the bins on the right! Organized by price for easy viewing and shopping - I now have most of my collection online. Just email or call me if you'd like to see any in person (locals only please). Special requests and suggestions are always welcome, though not guaranteed. Getting there slowly but surely - guess I'm the turtle.  The newest necklace I've posted features pink crazy lace pillows that really show off the luscious looking dark pink pearls in the front. It's an eye-catcher. I hope you love this necklace as much as I do. Additional pic is in the $20 bin.

Turquoise on Ice

This first necklace is one of my favorites. I love doing this pattern - the 5 turquoise glass beads are framed so nicely by the clear glass bead clusters on each side.  It can be dressed up with a nice jacket for work or going out to eat, or will dress up any outfit with casual elegance. Hangs comfortably around the neck at 16".  One thing's for sure - this one of a kind piece will get you noticed.   Price $15

Welcome!

Well I’ve finally taken the jewelry plunge and have started blogging. I’ve never considered myself a blogger type person, but I find that when it comes to something you love to do and are passionate about, all of a sudden blogging isn’t such a bad idea after all. I’ve come to the conclusion that blogging has almost therapeutic value - as I get to share my love of creating and sharing my jewelry with you. Every piece created I’m very proud of, have spent painstaking time and effort creating and making, and many a late nite hour making sure it passes my jewelry lovers’ eye of scrutiny with you in mind. And I hope you enjoy the pieces and my blog as much or maybe even more as I have enjoyed creating and making every single one of them. Jewelry creation has been an exciting, inspirational and fun journey, and I hope you join me in on the journey.

So whether you’re here because you’re a jewelry lover, heard of about my jewelry blog from a friend, wandered here by accident, or just plain ‘ole thought you’d check it out, I really hope you enjoy my jewelry blog, forgive any shortcomings as it's a work in progress, and maybe decide to buy that catchy piece that has caught your eye… enjoy, and watch for my next blog to come soon.
